Marcia Sherrill is a member of the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America,
and her designs have been sold internationally at such high-end Department and Specialty
Stores as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bonwit Teller and
Barneys. Her new exotic skin collection, SHERRILL LTD., features designs from her
28 years in the industry in exotic leathers including American Alligator, Lizard
and Python all with 18Karat gold hardware. The collection, the most expensive in
the world, has at its core a “Moral Compass” logo that is an apt symbol for the
company which reserves the right to only sell those customers whose philanthropic
work is deemed noteworthy. With an alligator bag fetching upwards of $100,000.00
SHERRILL LTD’s motto is: “Let Your Moral Compass Be Your Guide.” Sherrill is also
introducing this fall ‘10 a less expensive, popularly priced collection of accessories,
Anabelle By Marcia Sherrill, which is targeted at both younger customers and the
affluent customers as a secondary bag. Priced between $35 and $110, The Anabelle
by Marcia Sherrill Collection has a Pineapple Motif that is a hallmark of hospitality
in her native Southeast.
As the designer for the KLEINBERG SHERRILL label, she designed in- store boutiques
for the collection at London’s Harvey Nichols and at 5 stores for Japan’s Takashimaya
as well as free standing boutiques in New York and Atlanta. Her store designs were
featured in Retail Store Image Magazine where she was on the Advisory Board. Her
work is in the Metropolitan Museum of Arts Permanent Collection at The Costume Institute.
She served on the board of The Fashion Institute of Technology’s Accessories Department
for 15 years. Her Portraits of Hope, Crimson Alligator bag with diamond encrusted
Breast Cancer awareness ornament was auctioned for a record-setting price at Sotheby’s
in New York. Her designs have been featured over 700 times in W, Women’s Wear Daily,
Elle, InStyle, Vogue, Style.com, Harpers Bazaar, Self, Mirabella, Lucky, The New
York Times, Town & Country, Departures, Travel & Leisure, Atlanta Magazine, etc.
Specializing in exotic leathers, Sherrill’s signature skin is American alligator
but she has created bags and belts in every possible fabrication from python and
shagreen to raffia, wood and sterling silver. Her Fine Jewelry Collection bears
all of Sherrill’s copyrighted motifs in precious metals and precious gems stones.
She has designed over 500 buckles in 18kt gold, sterling silver and vermeil.
